Description:

Students interested in pursuing graduate work in Slavic Studies at the University of Victoria may apply for a Slavic M.A. degree by special arrangement. Our grad students combine their Slavic degree with another discipline, such as History, Linguistics, Film Studies, or Pacific and Asian Studies working together with faculty members on their thesis projects. We also participate in the Interdisciplinary M.A. program at the University of Victoria. Graduate students in Slavic Studies are eligible for co-op studies, alternating coursework with paid work terms. Students are also encouraged to inquire about teaching and research assistantships.

    Admission to the program normally requires a bachelor’s degree (major in Germanic Studies) with a minimum overall average of B+ (6.0 GPA), or a bachelor’s degree (major in Germanic Studies) with a minimum average of A- (7.0 GPA) in the final year’s work.
